Looking to the Future

Initially we changed to new battery-powered hedge trimmers. These hedge trimmers, not dependent on fossil fuels, do not emit harmful emissions, which is advantageous for both the environment and the operator. They produce less noise compared to petrol-driven machines and have significantly reduced harmful vibrations.

Additionally, without relying on fossil fuel, these trimmers are cleaner and lighter than their petrol-driven counterparts. Whenever a change is being considered health and safety of the operator is prioritised. We felt that a simple “button press” to start / stop was a significant improvement when 

working at the top of a ladder. This eliminates the need for tugging and pulling a starter cord, reducing the risk of losing balance, coupled with less vibration and harmful emissions, I felt these machines would be a sound investment.

More recently we have invested in new battery powered chainsaws for all the aforementioned reasons. When using this equipment at the top of a tree on a daily basis, what’s not to like? 

The downsides, there are always some! well not really, I don’t see us going back to petrol driven equipment anytime soon. We will continue to keep abreast of emerging technology and will be keen to consider any improvements which will help us improve our environmental impact coupled with the health and safety of all concerned.
